THE AIRCRAFT
Airspeed High Ultralights uses a privately owned ultra-light airplane, a 2006 Challenger II registered C-ILVB. Made by Quad City Aircraft Corporation since 1983, this kit-plane is one of the safest and most popular ultralights anywhere. Over 500 Challengers are registered in Canada.

C-ILVB is fitted with a state of the art electronic flight instrument system (EFIS) otherwise known as a glass cockpit. C-ILVB also has a ballistic recovery system (BRS) mounted on top of the wing. In the case of an emergency a handle can be pulled to deploy a parachute that will bring the entire aircraft safely to the ground.

The visibility from the Challenger is nothing short of spectacular. In the summer months when the temperatures warm up you can remove the doors to get that "wind in your hair" convertible feeling! The Challenger can be equipped with amphibious floats or skis for water and winter flying.
